Class of 2007 at their Senior Year Bordeaux Formal

With over 600 alumnae around the world, our chapter has the largest alumnae network of any sorority on MIT campus. Our alumnae are involved in many diverse areas from finance, law, medicine, entrepreneurship, consulting, as well as countless other fields. This has been an important asset to our chapter, not only in terms of internships or job opportunities, but also as a tool for mentorship.

In order to maintain a strong connection with our alumnae, we invite them to numerous events, including our philanthropy events and host an annual Alumnae Reunion in the spring. In addition, local alumnae have come to our house for dinners and for networking workshops. We also send out a newsletter each semester that highlights our events and activities that sisters have done throughout the summer or during Independent Activities Period (IAP).

Randee Miller:
Randee“I joined Aphi in hopes of finding some good friends.  I could never have anticipated the incredible people I would meet and what kind of lasting friendships I would make.  Each sister was so unique and had such gifts, whether it was sports, dance, public service, etc… I was truly inspired to be a better person because of all the amazing people that Aphi gave me the opportunity to be close to and call my sister.  Sounds cheesy but its true!”

Randee graduated in 2006 with a major in Course 7. She is completing medical school and applying to ophthalmology residency this fall.

Alexis Farel Wang:
“Alpha Phi has made me who I am today.  I still in very close contact with a ton of sisters and we share incredible life journeys together.  All MIT Alpha Phi's are making huge contributions to the world today.  We are an incredible group of women:  smart, strong, leaders and do-ers!  My experience of being a leader in Alpha Phi, gave me the confidence and leadership skills that I use day to day I would not change a single thing about my college career and being an A-phi was the highlight.”

Alexis graduated in 1996 with a major in Course 6.

Nicole Ackerman:
“I joined Alpha Phi to be part of a community that would support me and that I could contribute to.  I learned how to help run an organization, solve conflicts, and lead meetings while being on Aphi’s Executive Board.  After helping run a sorority, I can easily run a physics experiment!  Aphi also showed me the value of friendship and balancing work with fun and social time.  My sisters still inspire me and help me in life - I even keep our composite picture over my desk at work.”

Nicole graduated in 2007 with a major in Course 8. She is currently completing her PhD at Stanford University in Physics.

Georgiann Kronschnabel:
“At Alpha Phi I made fabulous friends!  Since leaving MIT, I've yet to find such a driven, dynamic, incredibly smart and social group of women anywhere.”

Georgiann graduated in 2000 with a major in Course 2. Since getting her MBA at Stanford, she has worked in the consulting industry at Bain & Company - in Chicago, Hong Kong, Bangkok, San Francisco, Johannesburg and London.

Jennifer Hamel Jones:
Jennifer“My Alpha Phi sisters supported me while I was at MIT and are still helping me out today.  However, my circle of Alpha Phi friends has expanded to include my local Alumnae chapter. I'm always introducing myself when I see someone else with Alpha Phi attire and there's an immediate connection.”

Jennifer graduated in 1990 with a major in Course 6.

Monica Wily:
“I met my best friend 20 years ago during recruitment.  We have remained the closest of friends despite living in different states.  Only having brothers, she is truly the sister that I never had and I am so thankful to have her in my life.”

Monica graduated in 1993 with a major in Course 10. She got her MBA at Harvard Business School.

Christine Ortiz:
“I joined Alpha Phi in order to have a family while I was in college, and it did that and much more!  My maid of honor at my wedding was an Alpha Phi, and my sisters, while they are unfortunately all in other states, have been there for me in ways I couldn't have even imagined.  For me, it was about relationships when I joined, and now, years later, it still is!”

Christine graduated in 2004 with a major in Course 17. She was featured in the July 2008 issue of Entrepreneur Magazine!

Gloria Ro Kolb:
I prefroshed with an APhi and was blown away by how cool, athletic, and nice she was, not at all the geeky image I had of MIT.  I wanted the network of women and friends at MIT.   My best friends now are still from APhi.

Gloria graduated in 1994 with a major in Course 2. She has started her own small medical devices company and was featured in Boston's "40 under 40" and MIT Technology Review's "World's Top Innovators under 35".

Alex Nelson:

Alex“APhi is an amazing network of women that are still an important part of my life.  I find that regardless of what I am doing, I always have my sisters who I can count on for advice and support in my personal life and career.  I look forward to many more memories to come. “

Alex graduated in 2006 with a major in Course 2. She has worked for Boston Consulting Group and is now at Harvard Business School getting her MBA.

Annmarie McAninch:

“I was excited about A Phi beginning with my "pre-frosh" visit during my senior year of high school!  The A Phi girls that I met were the most social, fun, put-together and impressive young ladies that I met on campus.  When I arrived at MIT in the fall and got to know more of the sisters I knew that I wanted be a part of this supportive, impressive and fun group.  Through Alpha Phi I was able to live with wonderful friends in our fantastic house in a great neighborhood - what an incredible opportunity for a young college student.  (Also, my parents were NOT impressed by MIT's overcrowded dorms at the time - they were thrilled about my moving to the house.)  Alpha Phi was a perfect support system for the rigors of the MIT environment and I made dear friends that I will keep for a lifetime. “

Annmarie graduated in 1996 with a major in Course 10. She has worked at Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley.
